Gerrit’s Vise

In addition to making reels, I have dabbled with rod ferrules and reel seat hardware. Gerrit (The Netherlands) has found yet another project for the home shop machinist, fly tying vises. This is a beautiful design and execution.

I wonder how he did the curved beam.

That is a really good looking vise. Do you have a website for him so we can have a gander at his work Dave?

Gerrit did not give me any URL reference, or else I would certainly have passed it on.

Sorry, for the very late reaction.
Had not been on this website after posting this message.
No, do not have a website, you can find me on Facebook.
I am busy making my first reel.
        A # 3 for my butter stick.
When ready, I will forward the photos.

Looks like a stainless steel rod that was bent with heat after machining.

The part is made of tool steel. Have this cold bent with just both my hands and an oak wooden mold / attachment.
