The S Crank

I am down to the last part on two reels to be done at the end of the month. It is the nickel silver crank.

The outline of my crank is formed by a series of circular arcs so that it can be made on a mill equipped with a rotary table.

I start by drilling/plunge milling seven holes in a rectangular blank. These are the three eventual through holes plus four small inside radii.

Then I can screw the drilled blank to a tool plate on the rotary table and cut the larger arcs. The last step is to make the center hole square.
